A fit body can make a world of difference in how you look and how you feel in your mind. There are two main kinds of fitness, which are associated with our body. The first kind is general fitness, which is associated with the overall state of your general health. Specific fitness refers to the process of staying fit for the purpose of playing certain specific sports and games. A person is termed to be physically fit when his heart, blood vessels, lungs and muscles are functioning in the right manner and to their maximum capacity.
The initial definition of fitness was the capacity of the body to perform the everyday tasks without experiencing any feeling of fatigue. But today the definition of physical fitness has changed and it refers to the capacity of the body to perform all the required tasks at the workplace as well as at the place of leisure. This also includes the capacity to resist diseases, which can be easily contracted from other people. This also includes the presence of mind to react in the right manner and make important decisions in the event of an emergency.
Many people have also stated that mental and emotional health is also a part and parcel of the overall complete health of the person. This fact has been depicted in many textbooks in the form of a triangle whose three sides represent mental, physical as well as emotional fitness. Maintenance of good physical health can help in avoiding many health problems and health conditions which occur as a result of an unhealthy lifestyle as well as ill balanced diet. The level pf physical fitness of a person can be seen through the phenotype. The genetic makeup as well as the environment surrounding the person is the two main factors, which affect the phenotype. Hence it is not possible for two people with the same genotype to have the same level of physical fitness. The actual fitness of a genotype is a combination of the survival capacity and the average fecundity. There are two main kinds of fitness namely absolute fitness as well as relative fitness. Relative fitness is a combination of the actual number of survivors in the current generation of a certain genotype and the number of survivors in the current generation of a similar genotype.
Regular exercise is an essential component in the process of staying healthy. But you should make sure that you do the right kind of exercises, which will suit your body type. Weight management does not mean that you should starve and it also does not mean that you have to follow the latest diet, which is selling like hot property in the market. Regular exercise can also help you to stay healthy. Stretching as well as weight training helps in providing more strength to your body and it also improves your level of fitness. Fitness and diet are essential watchwords for those people who want to stay fit and healthy. Sports are also a good way to stay fit and healthy.
